Vintage handmade brass crab with abalone inlaid dish. Measures about 9 1/2" widest X 7 1/4" deepest X 3 1/2" tallest to top of sea shell shaped handle.
The interior of top and bottom of "shell" appears to be silver plate though nothing verifies this via a marking. If you look at last photo - top lid - you can see the horizontal line where brass and the silver meet. The piece is marked: Handwrought --- Hecho En Mexic(o is missing) - Metales - and an engraved (...possibly figural) mark.
