Offered for sale is an antique 'microscope de dissection et d’observation, nouveau modèle', of 1856-62 by Nachet et Fils.
This rather rare microscope set by Nachet et Fils is modular. It can be used as a compound microscope, or converted into a compact but very practical dissecting microscope. Dat...ing the Nachet microscopes is difficult, as they bear no serial numbers. This microscope has engraved on the "Nachet et Fils, Rue Serpente 16, Paris", so it was made between 1856 and 1862 when he worked at this address.. CONDITION: The microscope and the optics are in very good optical, mechanical and cosmetic condition as can be seen in the photos. The lock of the case is not functional and the key is missing.
