This is the reason that #3 Ponytail Barbies are among the most popular of all vintage ponytails. That's because of their exceptionally sweet faces and smaller eyes, especially when lined by the unique copper brown paint. The brown eyeliner is the one feature that confirms this doll is a 3 and not another random ponytail which only have the more common blue liner/shadow.This doll has the earlier orangey red lips, with a perfect shape to add sophistication to her face. Her lips are pouty... and you rarely see the oxidation to orange in the later 3s or in the later ponytails in general. (She also smells like crayons - the other defining feature of a 3.)There is a tiny orange line on the left side of her face, next to her eye, which is of factory origin. It looks like a bit of eyeliner paint.I've dressed her in Plantation Belle with the original pink pearl necklace and open toe shoes. The bright pink shoes have left some staining on the bridge of the foot and curiously, underneath the pad of the foot as well. This is fairly common with 1s, 2s, and 3s.Her hair is long and soft with loose curls at the bottom. When I purchased her, the upper knot was already released which is why the elastic is onto covered with a ribbon. The bottom elastic dried up and was removed. There are no trims or missing plugs. Her bangs are soft with numerous tiny soft curls.The doll has an excellent solid #3 body with no noticeable stains or flaws.She will come to you wearing her original zebra swimsuit; she is only modeling Plantation Belle.
