We offer for sale this vintage and collectible book entitled "Little Brown Bear Goes To School" by Elizabeth Upham, beautifully illustrated by Marjorie Hartwell. It was published in 1955 by Platt and Munk.  Since it is a children's book it does have some markings - please see photos above.  The rest of the book is clean. The back cover (not photographed because not seen when we prepared this) has owners name in the upper left, in cursive writing and only about a quarter inch ...high. The illustrations and text are classic for the time period.  Marjorie Hartwell lived to be 99 years old and wrote at least 5 books in the Little Brown Bear series. She lived in Monroe, Michigan where there is a nine-foot tall statue of Little Bear in front of the Dorsch Memorial Branch Library celebrating her and her books.
