One could easily refer to Gene as an all around Renaissance woman of her day. Ms. Byron, a Canadian Artist moved to De La Palomas, Guanajuato in the mid 50's. She restored, refurbished and re-designed an astounding Casa with her Spanish Husband who was a Doctor. Ms. Byron rose to prominence in the 1960-70's creating Tin Trivets with hand painted Tile centers done in the Majolica tradition. These Trivets could be found in nearly every home in Tucson as the export of her wares to the US was in high demand. She also ventured into Tin Candelabras, Bins, Lighting and Wall Sconces. Often her designs where rapidly copied by the Large Tin Trade in nearby San Miguel. Today her Estate is now a Culture Museum; hosting many Classical and Jazz Concerts, as well Art Exhibitions. Both examples of her Work and Photos of her Estate where featured in famous 'Shipway' Mexican Interior and Design Books of the 1960's. en.travelbymexico.com/guanajuato/places-to-visit/?nom=1286589935***Please look closely at the pictures and feel free to ask questions prior to bidding***Payment & Shipping: buyer pays for shipping.
