This clock is an outstanding antique 18thc English ebonised twin fusee verge bracket clock of superb proportions and of the highest quality in great condition for age with only a couple of minor age marks exactly how you want to see it. This clock dating to Circa 1780
The case has a stunning display look which has an absolutely amazing ebonised colour and patina to it, the case is in excellent condition for age and exactly how you want to find it with only a couple of small age discrepencies. The case has a hinged glazed front door which is missing its lock and key but open and closes fine, The back has a glazed back door which has its original working lock and key, on either side there is an original brass fish scale pierced brass and red silk sounding panel. The case has a superb lacquered brass central finial to top
The ebonised case has an absolutely stunning colour and patina to it which is acquired through age. this is exactly how i have received it and it looks 100% more impressive in the flesh and as you can see looks absolutely stunning
The clock features a high quality original immaculate silvered and brass arched dial with engraved roman numerals to the silver chapter ring. It has its original English steel hands all in fantastic condition. The dial is engraved to the top arch by the maker John Heroux of London who is a well recorded clock maker and in all the books and is renowned for high quality clocks The dial features pierced ormolu spandrels to each corner of the dial. The dial also features a central alarm setting disc which is used to set the time for the alarm, and if you notice a little adjuster below the numeral 12 which is used to wind the alarm spring. There is a special key which somebody has made for this winder which will be included with the clock rather than using a screwdriver The dial is in fantastic condition
The clock has an absolutely fantastic English 8 day duration twin fusee bell striking movement with original verge escapement and alarm feature The movement is of outstanding quality and all in excellent original working condition as you can see and hear in the video above, comes with a new winding key, all working fantastically keeping time and striking the bell to top as you would expect from a high quality clock which has been serviced reguarly and has you can see and hear in the video above The clock strikes the bell to top on the hour counting the hours I quickly wound the alarm feature and set it off manually and it was going ok The clock measures 13.5 inches high x 9 inches wide x 6.75 inches deep Circa: 1780 This is a perfect investment clock and a beautiful display piece. Looks absolutely fantastic wherever it is displayed and a true talking point of any room.
