This is the first UK edition of Walter Lord's classic account of the sinking of the Titanic in 1912. It formed the basis of the famous 1958 film of the same name.
Published by Longmans in 1956, first UK edition. In blue boards with gold titling, the book measures approx. 8 3/4" x 5 3/4" with xi and 188 pages, numerous illustrations, and a plan of the boat deck and bottom deck of the Titanic on the endpapers.

The case of the book is in very good condition with slight fading to the bottom 1/8" of the spine.
The contents are tight and clean with a little faint foxing on the endpapers. There is no inscription.
The dustwrapper has some shelf wear with rubbing and a little creasing along the top edge. The top of the spine and top corners are bumped with some nicks at the top of the spine. There are a few small tears on the top edge and a larger tear of about 1/2" on the top front spine corner. It has not been price clipped.

Overseas delivery is by standard airmail, which is not tracked. I am happy to post by International Tracked and/or Signed For but please contact me before bidding for a price. I always retain proof of postage and for more valuable books I shall post by a Signed For service unless requested not to. I do not post by Surface Mail.
