This is an antique Meerschaum pipe with a fairly plain design of a good large size in its original case.
You will see it is a lidded type.. and the lid has a bit of Amber on the top as well...fancy silver metal frame and hinge that works... the very top has ROSE design silver mount and HOLE in the very top...which is not unusual. .
It has a silver collar and an amber stem but unfortunately the stem has snapped in 2 places.
It also has a hinged amber l...id on the bowl.
Silver is marked with a U or an N and a Portrait Head but it's mostly unreadable where its worn down...very difficult to see as well.
The pipe has been used so there are tobacco stains throughout. No maker's marks from what I can see.
In collectable condition with normal signs of age and use wear.
As mentioned, the amber stem is broken in a couple of places.
The case is structurally sound but does have some surface scuffs. Please see pictures for more details.
The box measures approx. 7 and 1/2 inches x 3 and 1/2 inches.
