This is a superb pair of Staffordshire seated white & gilt spaniel dogs with the wonderful facial decoration of which:During our research we have been informed they certainly date from the 19th century. Date about c1880s.Staffordshire, England origin.Feature in the A-Z of Staffordshire Dogs by Clive Mason Pope.Date confirmed as mid 19th century: c1880s.A wonderful portrayal of the seated spaniel dogs with:each having the white & gilt decoration and colouring with... the wonderful facial detailing.Pottery.Each with a gilt collar, locket & chain.Variations in sizes but these are confirmed as a pair..Each has an overall height of about 10inches.Max base size of about 7 x 5inches.Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition to both is:excellent and both are not subject to any major blemishes.Due to age: one has minor rubbing to the nose & eyes.Again due to age: overall fine crazing.All as per pictures.Besides being a very collectable, pair of, heavy, 19th century Staffordshire seated white & gilt spaniel dogs, each with the wonderful overall facial decoration, c1880s, both would also look fabulous displayed.uk to uk:FREEuk to usa: FREEuk to eu europe: FREEuk to worldwide: $49
