A Cornet Manufactured by J. W. York and Sons , Grand Rapids Mich. Serial Number 48277 dates is manufacture to the year 1917.It appears to have all it's original parts including the mouth piece. The 3 valves along with the top and bottom valve caps and the 2 water keys move freely. The bell is in good condition. The silver or nickel plating is almost complete with wear in only a few spots and the gold overlay on the bell is complete. There are some dents of which I tried... to show in the pictures but I do not know if they effect the performance of the instrument or not. Two of the U-shaped slides separated easily but I did not want to use too much force on the others to prevent damage. The mouth piece is original and has no damage. Over all length is 17 inches. Please see the pictures for condition and feel free to ask any questions . I will answer to the best of my knowledge but I have no idea how to play this instrument or know much of it's specific history.
