A Purple Christmas! Vintage German Hand Embroidered Tablecloth Hi!! Welcome friends!! This auction is for a beautiful tablecloth from Germany. This vintage tablecloth is gorgeous. It is hand embroidered with cross stitch embroidery. This wonderful tablecloth is hand embroidered with colors purple and lavender. If you love purple, this is the tablecloth for you. The candle and poinsettia motif is just beautiful. It does appear that the German oma who stitched this piece did run out of l...avender thread. One piece of scrollwork and one of the Christmas bells was stitched with pink thread. It does blend very well though. This tablecloth features white cotton banded edges. I cannot see any other flaws. This tablecloth measures 30 1/4" by 30 1/4". What a gorgeous work of German artistry! I love this style of tablecloth. These "toppers" are actually a nice German tradition. In Germany, they put a plain colored tablecloth on the table. Then they place these "toppers" catacorner in the center of the table. Then when they go to eat, they remove the topper so it will not become dirty or soiled. I love the tradition. It just seems to have charm. Why not start this charming tradition in your home for the upcoming holiday season?If color is important, please do not rely solely on the pictures.
