Fish decoys by old time Minnesota maker Ernie Newman are extremely difficult to find and highly collectible, The form, finish and overall elegance of design are truly unique in the world of fish decoys. This larger 9" pike is painted orange with a black head and a screen painted stripe along the back in cream and black. It has glass eyes. The fins are natural, unpainted stainless steel and would have been excellent fish attractors. This decoy is beautiful and original with normal signs... of age and light use including some spots of paint loss here and there which reveal the primer paint below.
