Made by the one and only Ames Sword Company, this rare historic hat features a Dynamic Red Passion at the center of a huge ornate Silken Rosette. The Red insert looks like it might possibly be Leather. Although silver was often used, the framing device may be a silver colored metal of some type. Surrounding the cross is a handsome and delicate silken Rosette. There are two Orstrich plumes, White over Black. The hat is very old and is solid. There is some normal expected age wear. There is some common feather shedding (not terrible) and areas of surface fur loss (mostly along edges and one are underneath brim). The silk lining is solid. The inside circumference measures approximately 22 ½ to 23 inches. A VERY COLLECTIBLE & HISTORIC ANTIQUE 1890’s KNIGHTS TEMPLAR CHAPEAU BY THE GREAT AMES SWORD COMPANY! FEATURES A DYNAMIC HUGE CROSS!
