Having several unofficial names, the red Valco Airline guitars were first known as the "JB Hutto Model, " named after the blues guitarist known for using them. As the popularity of The White Stripes grew, some have referred to them as the "Jack White Model." Others may have referred to the guitar as the "Montgomery Airline" or "JB Hutto Montgomery Airline." An original Airline circa 1964This 1964 Airline guitar is the exact year and Model Jack White uses. The red plastic guitar ...body is made of two pieces called Res-O-Glas, a type of fiberglass. A narrow piece of maple runs down the middle of the body to anchor the neck, pickups and tailpiece. The Valco Airlines didn’t have a truss rod; instead three screws at back of the neck for adjustments, the neck is sturdy with reinforced steel. Condition, the guitar is all original with the exception of one side of the 3x3 tuning keys being replaced with another set of vintage kluson 60's era tuners, just not the butterfly style. No modifications done on this guitar other then that. Everything works 100%, including the super rare original case and cord. The neck binding has lots of wear one small hole and chipping near the neck pickup. Nothing effects playability and can be easily addressed, frets are in excellent condition, This is a player guitar, neck is very comfortable in hand, See Pics!Each pickup has a dedicated volume and tone control, but a master volume control sits next to the input jack. The volume and tone controls are above each pickup, next to the selector switch. The Pickups churn out a round and chimey sound." A great pairing for Fuzz and overdriven sounds.
