There are two scroll surround cartouches that are expertly engraved with block, script-style monograms. The cover is fitted with a good, strong chair-back style thumb piece and has a superbly made hinge. The gilt (gold-wash) interior is a sign of the excellen...t, high quality of this piece.This ale mug has a good hefty weight in the hand and has a lovely satisfying feeling of quality.
