Old Antique GERMAN Germany Doll BISQUE Head Leather Body BLUE Eyes. Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
A lovely old German Made doll that has a Bisque Head; nice Rosey cheeks, open mouth with 4 teeth and stationary Blue Glass Eyes. The back of her neck and shoulders reads:"Germany"with some letters that are very difficult to read, but look like an "M" and followed by possibly "J" "J". The Bisque head is in wonderful condition. There is a pencil mark (?) on the back... ofthe head. It appears in the pictures that it could be cracked. This is NOT SO, I gently tried to wipe it away and I could not, and I didn't want to rub too hard on the bisque. She has a leather Kidd body, upper armsand upper legs. The leather is in very nice condition and still a nice creamy beige in color. The lower arms and hands are bisque and I can see no damage to them, all fingers are intact.When I undressed her for the photos for this description , I noticed that it looks like her arms are on backwards. I did not notice this when she had been dressed with the long sleeves on her dress. Her lower legs are cloth and in very good condition, nice and clean and no tears of any kind. She is flexible at the hips and knees with a clever leather made joint. She is dressed in a cotton dress, pantaloons and knee high stockings. The clothing might be original to her (I"m not sure). The dress has yellowed with age and needsa good soaking and washing, but I will not attempt this, as I don't want to do the wrong thing to the clothing. She measures 15 inches tall. She does not have her original wig, this was an estate find and that is how she came, bald headed. The leather on top of her left shoulder hascome loose. I have not attempted to fix, as again I don't want to harm her with my attempted repair. A sweet old German doll, that must have been loved and taken care very well over these last 100 years plus.
