Up for sale is this antique meerschaum pipe. This has a screw in amber bit which showa very little use. Although smoked there is very little cake in the bowl. This comes with a custom hinged case that shows more wear on one side more than the other. There is a lot of text on one half of the inside case. With a magnifier I am able to make out A, Benoit 105 Rue ue Paris (unable to make out rest of address) And in the center is what appears to be Fabri(? c or g)an...t Other text MEDALLE D'OR (translated metalic gold-gold metal) The next line seen is fairly clear but does not make sense to me which is HAVDE 1887. This pipe measures 9 1/2" and it has a tooled silver band where the bit screws to the stem.Please see photos for condition details. Dad had a lot of Chatan's Make pipes but only two meerschaum pipes.
This pipe was from my father's collection. I am not knowledgeable about pipes but dad did collect many different things and he seemed to know what was collectible. My siblings and I have done what research we could and have established our asking and acceptable low for offers. We will in the coming months re-evaluate any items that are unsold from dad's estate. My siblings wanted me to open an ebay account just for dad's stuff. Some other item can be seen on my personal account Champa7299.
