B&K Dyna-Quik 500 Tube Tester. This unit is from the 1960's and will te...st octal and 7 pin, 9 pin miniature tubes. This is a great, easy to use tester for testing tubes for your vintage and new audio equipment. It will test 5AR4, 5U4, 5Z3, 6L6, 6V6, 6SN7, 6SL7, 6BQ5/EL84, 6CA4, 6CA7/EL34, 6550/KT-88, 6DJ8, 6922, 5751, 5881, 12AT7, 12AU7 and 12AX7 along with many other audio and radio tubes. This tube tester features a clever voltage control circuit that eliminates the need to constantly set the AC line level to insure accurate tests, regardless of line voltage variations. Has sockets for most late model hifi tubes. Dyna-Quik System, where many popular tubes can be tested by just setting two dials. Dual section tubes can be checked with just two pushbuttons. Sensitive grid leakage and shorts read on the meter, indicating grid emissions, internal shorts, or gas. Life-test switch position which will indicate on the meter, gives indication of relative good use left in a tube.
The tester appears to be working OK. I checked it out with the following tubes: 6BQ5 6V6, 12AU7, 6DJ8 and 5U4GB which had all been tested on my TV-7/D. The readings were all satisfactory. Includes the tube tester settings guide. The case has some wear. The plate/grid lead is a bit ratty. Does NOT test Loctal, 4.5.6. or 7 pin early tubes. It's heavy.
