Being offered is a very nice old antique Indonesian pedang lurus sword with a lengthy Arabic inscription to each side of the pamor blade. This sword measures slightly over 22” long. The handle is a metal alloy with silvery color with floral carvings. The squarish cross guard with floral carvings. The scabbard is also a metal alloy with silver color and every inch of both sides have been carved with floral motif, birds, snakes and an unidentified animal. Even t...he belt clip has been carved. The blade is very thick with the upper half of the blade a, one with the spine with a lovely pamor. You have silvery lines that in spots create an X like twist core but it is not consistent enough to be considered twist core but the smith definitely manipulated the material to give these silvery lines on a dark black background. You have a clear line of demarcation down the middle and then the lower half of the blade on both sides with lengthy Arabic inscription. The inscription has been carved into the blade and then highlighted in gold leaf. The blade has a nice fragrant smell. The Arabic inscription has not been translated.
