Being offered is a nice old antique and interesting Mandau sword of the Dayak tribe in Borneo. This sword measures 24 3/4” in total length. The handle is wood with a nice glossy patina with spiral carvings at the nose and other smaller carvings. Some age cracks and one loss to one side and the hair plug doesn’t have much hair left but a nice old handle. The grip is wrapped in metal wire. Missing its organic plug at the base if it ever had it. Nic...e thick blade with some oxidation patches and light rust in spots. Should clean up nicely. The scabbard is wood with unusual rattan weave wrap. Some of the rattan has broken but still remains. Some nice carvings on the exposed wood.
