Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a rare American brand "Crab Shoe" style microphone desk stand with a painted aluminum base and an accessory long riser / stem. This stand was very modern for its time and had that midcentury modern contemporary vibe to it. It was far more modern and sleek than most desk stands of that era. It was very well manufactured and a signature American Microphone Company design. I have to be honest ...that I don't know the model number of this stand even after several years of selling these. If you happen to know...please throw me a bone. These desk stands are often seen with an American D22 or DR332 model mic on top and are a great complimentary stand to just about any vintage mic out there. You very rarely see these around and this is actually the second one I have ever offered for sale on Ebay in about a year. This desk stand has a wide stable platform that makes it ideal for those longer, heavier screw on mics of the day like the RCA 74B, Altec 633A and a whole other variety of Shure, Turner and American microphones. The dimensions of this stand are appx 7 inches deep X 5 inches wide X 3 inches tall. 7 inches tall with the chrome plated older riser giving you plenty of height. The chrome riser will unscrew from the stand if you choose not to use it but it certainly gives you many more options and looks great on the stand. The riser is a 1940's era piece. It's thick brass with a quality chrome finish and really compliments the stand. The stand has good satin black paint and comes with 4 felt pads. The paint appears to be original and it's in good overall condition with just a few blemishes. A few paint chips here and there. The brass stem / riser has no wear to it and will accept most older American Mic Co models. The riser will allow you to fit any mic clip or any mic for that matter. The stand is quite heavy being over 3 pounds so you can put the heaviest mic you have on this stand. MICROPHONES SHOWN ON STAND ARE NOT INCLUDED...FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.
