Description: A splendid Antique English Victorian solid sterling silver plain tea caddy canister. Which has a lovely cauldron style shaped body with two fitted ring shaped handles. Decorated with a pie crust cut style rim to the border of the body and is fitted with doom shaped pull off lid with a ball finial. The tea caddy stands on three protruding scroll shaped feet to the base. It has a wonderful plain body which is not engraved with any personal presentation inscription, init...ials, monograms or family crest marks. It's of an excellent very useable size and is made of an excellent thick gauge of solid sterling silver. It would make a superb addition to anyones collection or is ready to be used for its purpose it was made for. It's from the Queen Victorian era and is of 119 years of age. A great example.
Maker & Date Hallmark: Maker Walker & Hall. Date hallmark 1900 and assay hallmark Birmingham.
Measurements: Height 11 cm, diameter across the top 9.2 cm and across the base 8.5 cm. Depth of interiors body 7.5 cm.
Weight: Silver weight 195 Grams.
Condition: Very good condition with no dents, splits, knocks, holes or repairs. Just some light surface dings marks to the body from use but nothing major. Just whats to be expected with age and use. The lid is in very good condition with only a few light dings but nothing too bad. The lid pulls off and fits tightly to the body with no problems. The interior is in lovely clean condition with no issues. Stands strong and proud on display with no wobble. The tea caddy is hallmarked with English solid sterling silver marks to the underneath of the body and the rim is hallmarked with a lion passant and matching date hallmark. The finial is in excellent condition with no damage. A lovely Victorian period example which is ready to be used.
