Clarence Darrow ' S Two Great Trials. Rare 1927 Booklet. Big Blue Book No. B - 29,
Item History & Price
The popular Big Blue Book publications are an offspring of the Little Blue Books from the Haldeman-Julius Company. They were known for their popular, affordable publications. The couple who ran the publishing company were known for their socialist/atheist bent and for a time were under J Edgar Hoover's FBI watch for their "questionable" leanings. This particular publication is ...titled "Clarence Darrow's Two Great Trials; Reports of the Scopes Anti-Evolution Case and the Dr. Sweet Negro Trial". They are written from their own impressions of their time spent in the shadow of these events.
The 74 page booklet is interesting in a historical perspective on a number of levels, not only from their insights on Clarence Darrow's most famous trials but also of the husband and wife publishers and the times they lived in.
