VINTAGE EARLY 1940s VOGUE TODDLES COMPOSITION Pre-Ginny
Marked DOLL CO. with Rare Dress , Original Shoes , Rayon Socks Here is a sweet 7½" composition Vogue Toddles doll marked DOLL CO. on her back. She is one of the very early pre-Ginny dolls, likely from the early 1940s. Toddles has molded hair & side-glancing painted eyes. Her right arm is in the characteristic bent-at-the-elbow position. She has almost no crazing or cracks. I noted a few areas with missing paint ...(see photos); the biggest area is on the right arm. Stringing is secure & there are no missing fingers or seam splits. There's a small rough area beside her left knee that is part of how she was originally molded. She wears an adorable two-piece outfit in very good, played-with condition. Dress has tiny pink checks & a partial white bodice with rick-rack trim at neck & short sleeves -- no tag. There are three round decorative dots on the bodice. Dress closes with 2 square snaps & ties at the waist. Panties match the dress and have loose elastic. Vintage rayon socks are stretched out; smooth bottom oilcloth slippers are in good condition.
