PAIR of Square Framed Antique Chinese Embroidery Panels with Forbidden Stitch 7 1/2"We are pleased to offer from our personal collection this pair of framed antique Chinese embroidery panels. The "mirrored" panels are embroidered with a bat, peach, flowers and leaves in various shades of blue silk threads. In the center of each panel is a large peony type flower done with the 'forbidden stitch' and highlighted with gold threads. The embroidery is skillfully executed and appear not to h...ave been exposed to excessive sunlight which can fade these textiles. All the embroidered work is done on a dark midnight blue color background fabric and framed with a narrow black painted wood frame. The embroideries are framed under glass. Both frames are in excellent shape with only a few very tiny light bumps here and there that can't be seen without close, careful examination. The paper on the backside of each appears to be about the same age as the frames. Please take the time to carefully review each of the photographs. Contact seller if you have any questions or if you require additional photographs for inspection. Measurements: Each framed embroidery measures 7 1/2" x 71/2" framed. Embroideries measure approximately 5" x 5" on fabric that measures approximately 6 1/2' x 6 1/2". The two framed embroideries weigh approximately 1.4 lbs. All measurements are approximate, but close. Condition: We carefully examined each framed embroidery, but NOT outside their frames. Inside of glass (side facing the embroideries) needs a little cleaning. Could be done, but backing will need to be removed. We prefer the buyer to decide if this is necessary. Some sticker residue and light moisture noted on the paper backing, but does not affect the textiles. Some very minor bumps noted on edges of frames, not bad, but mentioned for accuracy. Other than that, the embroideries appear fresh in color and have a silky sheen when examined in the light. NO Fading, Tears, Stains, Damaged or Loose threads were noted.
