I am not a geologist or expert in the area… but it appears that the information is much broader than the Wayne County of 1913… but addresses the geology of the Great Lakes Region as well…Even includes a reproduced schematic of borings for the Detroit River tunnel… Condition Overall Good/Fair condition… for a 100+ year old volume…Binding is relaxed yet secure. Corners & spine square with considerable wear. A bit soiled but very usable…. Interior pages slightly soiled, some tanning / toning. No mark-up. To the north, lie Macomb and Oakland counties, to the west, lies Washtenaw, and to the south, Monroe County. The county now covers an area of approximately 616 square miles, and, exclusive of the two cities Detroit and Wyandotte, is subdivided into twenty townships. Expressed in latitude and longitude, the county extends from approximately N. Lat. 42 -2 to 42 -27 and from W. Long. 82 -52 to 83 or through about 25 of latitude and 41 of longitude.1 From the extreme points, the county has a north and south extent of some 29 miles and an east and west extent of miles; each minute of latitude thus averaging about one and one-seventh miles and, of longitude, about seven-eighths of a mile. The county includes all the islands of Detroit River which lie west of the international boundary, two of which - Belle Isle and Grosse Isle - are of considerable size.
