Hi. Today I have a rare original 2" US presidential campaign pinback button for sale. This button features William Jennings Bryan. He was the Democratic nominee for president 3 times (1896, 1900, and 1908, ) but he never won. He was defeated in 1896 and 1900 by Republican candidate William McKinley, and by Republican candidate William Howard Taft (President Theodore Roosevelt's chosen successor) in 1908. Bryan served as Secretary of State from 1913-1915. He was removed from office, bec...ause he clashed with President Woodrow Wilson over US neutrality in World War I. He also participated in the famous Scopes "Monkey" Trial in 1925 on the "anti-evolution" side. William Jennings Bryan is one of the most interesting figures in Late-19th/ Early-20th century US politics.
*No patent date or other date is listed. Bryan's photo used here is identical to the one used for buttons in his 1900 presidential campaign, but I'm not sure if the same photo was also used in 1896. I can't be sure if this is from his 1896 or 1900 presidential campaign.

*Condition is Used. The original paper insert is missing and there are some superficial rust stains on the metal backing, but the front of the button is in excellent condition. Please examine my photos carefully before bidding.
