Original Description:
A vintage arithmometer "Feliks M" from the USSR. It was named in honor of Felix Dzerzhinsky (a Bolshevik revolutionary and official). "Feliks" machines were produced from 1929 to 1978 with a total circulation of several million . In total, more than two dozen modifications of the adding machines were created. The counting machines were produced in Kursk ("ScetMash" ("Counting Machine")),  in Penza ("Penza Plant of Computer Technology") and in Moscow ("Plant of Calcula...ting and Analytical Machines named after V.D. Kalmykov").
The "Felix M" arithmometer consists of a fixed box with slots in which the given number is set by moving 9 levers, and a movable block with a rev counter with 8 windows in the left part and a result counter with 13 windows on the right. On the left and right ends of the carriage, one wing is located, by rotating them from one click to another, the rev counter and the result counter are reset. To the right of the fixed box there is a handle, with its rotation, arithmetic operations are performed. When the handle making one turn, depending on the position of the carriage, the number in a particular window of the rev counter increases by one.
Under the counter windows there is a bar with movable metal arrows, by means of which the comma is located in the numbers on the counters. The arrows are introduced for the convenience of the operator and do not affect the algorithm of the mechanics. If the counter overflows or a negative number is received, the bell built into the adding machine will be triggered. It means that you need to cancel the previous operation, turning the handle one time in the opposite direction, and read the result in the windows of the counters.
To perform the calculations, it is required to pull the handle located on the right and turn it in the direction indicated on the instrument case for the corresponding operation.
   * When adding and subtracting it is enough to perform two consecutive turns of the handle. The first is required for entering into the counter the first addend or decremented, dialled on the levers. Then you need to dial the second number with the levers and turn the handle in the direction required to perform the summation or subtraction.
   * To multiply a given number, for example, by a two-digit factor, you need to set the given number with the levers, scroll the handle in the direction of summation for as many turns as there are units in the multiplier, and then move the block one space to the right and scroll the handle for as many turns as there are dozens in a multiplier. The result of the multiplication appears in the windows of the effective counter. At the rev counter, when the procedure is performed correctly, the multiplier is displayed.
   * For division the machine should be reset. Set the dividend in the corresponding digits by levers and with a positive turn of the handle transfer it to the result counter. Quench the unit (white) in the rev counter. Move the levers to zero position. The block is moved to the right by a given accuracy of the quotient (expressed by the number of decimal places) plus one digit per rounding. A divider is set in the corresponding digits. The block is shifted to combination of the highest dividend digits and the divider. Make turns with the handle in the negative direction, while in the separable part of the dividend there will be a divider. In the rev counter  the numeral of the highest discharge quotient will be obtained. Move the block one digit to the left and find the second digit of the quotient, and so on, until zeroes or a remainder not containing a divider are obtained in the result counter. Private numerals, except of 9 and 0, are recorded in the rev counter in red color. If an extra rotation of the handle is made in the negative direction one turn should be made in the positive direction without moving the carriage.    The adding machine was tested - it's in working condition, but left and right reset work incorrectly not all figures are reset, maybe cleaning will help. But in general everything rotates, clicks and counts without problems. As it's old (near 50 years old) the case is scratched and scuffed. There's also dust inside. See more on photos!
