Queen Anne, English, Early 18th Century - circa 1705.
Hand constructed from cast and wrought brass - the original brazed and burnished vertical seam is clearly visible to the shaft etc, (see pictures). This early example is of baluster form. The capital is of typical Queen Anne form, (ie without wax-pan to the candle socket). The stepped, hexagonal base section is tightly riveted at the shaft joint, (original).
Size: overall height - 6 1/4" (158mm).
Weight... - 219 grams.
The overall condition is Fair - Good. Holes, (created over three centuries of polishing!), and a bruise to the baluster, (see pictures). Wear and surface marks consistent with genuine age and usage. Natural colour and patina - not recently cleaned or polished.
