Up for auction is a rare original WWII Airborne Artillery Officer's paraglider overseas cap patch circa 1944. The cotton cut edge patch is in excellent, unused condition, with no damage. The reverse of the embroidery shows textbook white chasing threads. The patch has been UV tested, and does not fluoresce. This rare variation was only made in Officer's (glider facing right) configuration, and was also made with Infantry blue backing material. The branch specific paraglider patch... was only worn for a very short period of time before being superseded by the universal red & blue paraglider insignia.
