All of the items I will be listing came directly from Kenner in Cincinnati, and all have been in my possession since the 1980's when I worked there. They have not been offered before, and everything is guaranteed genuine.
This auction is for one Kenner PRINCESS LEIA character as shown in the photos. This is a pre-production prototype ...referred to as a "First Shot". These were made for internal use at Kenner for testing and evaluation prior to commencing a full production run. They are scarce because of the limited numbers, and desirable collectables because they are the first pieces out of fresh molds, so detail is crisp. In most cases, "First Shots" were not made in the same color plastic as the production runs, simply because the factories ran whatever plastic was already in their machines. Changing colors was considered an unnecessary expense.
At one point I had a dozen Princess Leia First-Shot torsos that came from Kenner after they were used for the "head-pull" test to confirm compliance with safety standards. Of that group, only 3 had the lighter-color white heads, which I liked better. In my listing, the first photo most closely resembles the color. The body is more translucent than it appears in my photos. This is my last Princess Leia, and the nicest of the group.
