Original Description:
 Here's a Control Yoke artifact from the senseless crash of an Army Air Force C-47B #43-49365 on 11-16-44 on the Southern Slopes of Sandia Peak near Albuquerque, New Mexico. The sole pilot was a Lt. Colonel who disregarded regulations and flew the aircraft without a co-pilot at tree-top level from Denver to his destination of Kirtland AFB with ten people aboard. The aircraft collided with trees about mid-way up the slope of mountain near the small town of Placitas, ...New Mexico. Seven perished in the crash including the pilot. This Control Yoke artifact with Center Cap is about all that remains from this thoroughly avoidable accident. Would you like to add it to your collection?
