Original Description:
This is one of the most impressive looking French clocks i've come across in a while. Beautifully detailed from the intricate case and attached castings, to the exceptional enamel work on the porcelain dial and the side columns which are also porcelain.. It does need to be serviced as it will run for a while and stop. Movement does not appear to be very dirty, and it may only require lubrication. Can't find any damage to the case, but i've tried to show photos from all angles. There is... minimal paint loss to the dial and to the back of the 2 columns. ( photos 9, 10, 11 ) The movement is signed with a trademark, which is an oval with a star in-between the letters A & B. My estimate is it dates to the late 1800's. You don't come across Egyptian Revival clocks very often, especially with all the features of this one. A fairly heavy clock.
