For sale today we have this Truly Stunning Pair of Doulton Lambeth Faience Vases by Minna L Crawley. Of baluster form the vases feature a very well executed, hand painted Arts and Crafts design of Chrysanthemum flowers and buds within scrolling foliage set against a deep blue ground. The borders, top and bottom, are the stylised geometrics that were popular at the time. The main design is very much in the William De Morgan Persian/ Iznik style. Measure 22 cm tall. Interestingly... the vases are stamped P, B & Co, indicating that the undecorated vases came from Pinder, Bourne and Co (a company that Doulton acquired circa 1877). 1 vase bears a very smudged Doulton Lambeth Faience stamp. Artist marks- conjoined "MLC 652" for Crawley along with "M.S." for Mary Slater These are the finest example of Minna L Crawley's work that I have ever had the good fortune to come across.
Presented to the market free of any chips cracks or repairs. This is a beautiful pair of vases and they would be a fine addition to your collection!
