The solid cast original 5” artist proof figures were cast i...n the USA over 25years ago. and over time have been hand-painted and signed by the 82 yr. oldsculptor/artist. Both are mounted upon a walnut base 7” x 4” x 1.25” with a nameplate. Noted is the absence of a face mask. Riddell created the first modern facemask for Otto Graham in 1953 and it did not evolve into the single bar until the mid to late fifties.There are only a few in this edition of APs which the Artistis releasing . ('51, '56, '60, '52, '58 and '59) There aresome of which only one was made. The 1951 National Football League Championship Game was played December 23 at the Los Angeles Coliseum. Since moving to California in early 1946 the Rams were seeking their first NFL title. The Browns were favored to win this game by six points. However, the Rams upset the Browns 24–17 for their second NFL championship before a record crowd for the title game of 59, 475. As of 2018, this remains the Rams' only NFL championship as a California team. This was also the first time that the Browns under Paul Brown did not finish the season with a championship after 4 wins in the AAFC and a championship in their first NFL season in 1950.
