HEAVY VINTAGE REEL FRENCH GOLD EMBOSSED TINSEL METAL METALLIC THREAD 100g 4oz 56 ... Click images to enlarge Description This is a heavy vintage French reel of embossed tinsel or flat plate gold metal thread from France with a sort of pattern embossed into it making it sparkle.It came from a factory in France that closed down. It dates to somewhere around the 1950s/1960s.It measures about 1/2 mm wide, 2 thread per 1mm, I assume it is the type of thread used for couching/goldwork, the reel measures about 6 cms/2.25" tall and weighs about 100g/4oz. It is in mostly good condition, minor wear to the outer layer with a couple of loose ends coming from the reel with a little damage to one end of the reel. Thank you for looking.
