This auction is for a beautiful 1957/58 Rio Grande F-3 AB set of diesels! Personally, I think the 2379 is one of the toughest of all Lionel’s Post-War F-3’s too find in super clean condition. They normally show a lot of wear on the paint but, this one is very clean! This engine came out of Round Rock, TX from a gentleman that kept his trains in glass display cases and the condition shows! He had purchased his trains throughout the years but has decided to let them go.On this set, t...he yellow/silver paint still has its original clean factory patina to it, and is fresh in its appearance! It just “pops” with how nice it is! The silver roofs are really clean and still have a frosty appearance to them!......no real blemishes.The silver on the roof edges is also, mostly intact and free from major handling! Also, the original and very delicate nose decal is intact......even over the front louvers!The black numbering, pin striping and lettering is as crisp(BOLD), clean, clear and consistent on both sides of the cabs as I have ever seen! The wheels/pick-ups show use as it has been run but, not extensively! The engine operates mechanically, as it should. It could use a thorough servicing if you plan on operating it extensively.
