Stylish Antique 1920s Nor? Sterling Silver Antique Swiss Made 8 Day Travel ClockThis is a lovely accessory that looks to date to the 1900s. A classy and stylish travel clock in a folding sterling silver case. We don’t recognise its mark; it reads “SD”, a symbol that looks like a quartered circle with an “U” to the centre and “925” stamp for sterling silver. We think that this may prove to be a Norwegian or Scandinavian hallmark.The clock resembles a small cigarette case ...with to plain polished sides. The top has a gothic monogram of “CLE” and a date of “23/10/23” in the bottom right hand corner. When opened the clock springs forward on its mounting plate. The inside has a faded old gold gilding. It has a white enamelled dial marked with old gold yellow Arabic hour markers and black baton minute calibration. The face has “8 DAYS SWISS MADE” under the 12 marker. It has a rose gold coloured crown (not tested) to wind it and set the time. At time of writing it is ticking away nicely and keeping good time. As with all watches/clocks we sell there are no guarantees as to the movement once in the possession of the buyer.It is in remarkably good condition for its age; some stubborn spots of patina that we haven’t tried to polish out; some natural light age wear.
