This is a large and very chunky English sterling silver salt grinder that is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham 1997 and with the maker's mark of Whitehill Silver. It stands at 4" (9.9cm) tall and it is 2 3/8" (6.2cm) wide at its base. It is a solid piece weighing in at 196g. All is in good condition with no dents, splits or repairs to the silve...r and the mechanism is clean and in good working order. There are no monograms or inscriptions, nor have there ever been any.
