ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER WHITING & DAVIS CO. MESH PURSE – CIRCA 1920 or EARLIER?

Antique Sterling Silver Whiting & Davis Co. Mesh Purse, with Sterling Frame, Bag& Chain. Marked “Sterling” and "Whiting & Davis Co." and has the number "1856" etched on the frame (not sure if it's meant to be a date?). The purse appears to have been drawer-kept andnever used. Clasp and hinges working great. Circa 1920. Estate found. Bag measures est. 7”W x 4.6”H and 9.5”Hw...ith the chain. The bag is in undamaged and unblemished condition.
