This beautiful G.A.R. Grand Army of the Republic In Memoriam badge with silk banner and gold tassels is 8” long when laid out and 2 5/8” across  -  the black silk banner has common vertical shredding just as the lettering begins  -  L.A.C. GERRY    POST NO 72    G.A.R.  PORT DEPOSIT, MD. The large center badge with gilt finish has a wonderful center image of I assume Lady Liberty at the tombst...one which is lettered IN MEMORIAM. The condition and colors of the cello center are superb   -  the celluloid badge at the top with gold edging has 5 flags, eagle and star in vivid colors. On the back is the advertising for Whitehead and Hoag with several patent dates, all before 1900. This piece is probably 1900-1910 – acquired with several other great GAR items from a Pennsylvania estate. Buyer 4.95 safe and careful packing and shipping in USA
