AUTHENTIC LADIES OF G.A.R. "PAST PRESIDENT" MEDAL This Medal has the date 1914 etched on the back. It was worn by a past president of the Ladies of the GAR at their yearly conventions.The Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic is the oldest Women’s hereditary organization in the United States. The original objectives of the organization included promotion of patriotism and loyalty to the Union, participation in community service, especially for the aid of our Veterans. Today�...��s objectives are still the same, with great emphasis on preservation of Civil War history
