Occasionally, you will find one or two mini molds listedon eBay. Here we have at 13 probably thelargest set of yellow ware mini molds ever offered. These molds are unique to Yellow Rock Potterylocated in Philadelphia, PA and were likely made during the 1850s. During this period, kilns were fired at low temperaturesresulting in less durable pottery than was possible by the end of the1800s. Early yellow ware was easilydamaged from use, these molds are all in eithe...r original mint condition or innear mint condition with only minor damage that doesn’t detract. Seven of the mini molds are signed with roundstamps in black and in blue reading “YELLOW ROCK / PHILA.” A photo of additional Yellow Rock miniaturemolds can be found on page 42 in Lisa McAllister's Book II, Collector's Guideto Yellow Ware. This is a wonderful collectionof American yellow ware miniature molds any collector would appreciate and bepleased to own.
