Here we have a visually stunning large pitcher dating to theearly to mid-1800s. The pitcher is awide baluster shape with a black infilled check pattern around the neck, ayellow band around the shoulder, a myriad of 3-color mocha decorations on acoffee color band on the side and a small rounded foot at the base. This is a large pitcher measuring 7 ¾”in height to the rim by 10 ¾” in width from the tip of the spout to the handle. This has a small shallow chip on th...e edge ofthe rim, an impact line on the edge of the handle and a short line in the glazeon the underside of the foot that doesn’t go through. None of this damage is obvious nor detractsfrom the beauty of this fine pitcher. Thisis one of those pitchers that anyone who sees it wishes they owned it. I’ve never seen another pitcher likethis. This is one of many wonderfulpieces of mochaware I am offering that would enhance and be highly prized inany collection.
