Reference Number: Avaluer:22977160 | Object Type: Pitcher |
Color: Blue |
Here's a nice old NC pottery pitcher that was made at the shop of Charlie Auman in the late 1920's. Pitcher was likely turned by Floyd Hilton, who was the primary turning potter after Lorenzo "Wrenn" Cole left to take over the Carolina Pottery shops at Candor. The pitcher has a deep cobalt blue glaze over the Auman yellow. You can see some of the yellow bleeding through on the exterior, but more so down inside the rim. Pitcher stands 7.5" tall by 6" wide across the body and handle. Con...dition is excellent, with no damages or any repairs found. This is also from the collection of the late Brad Cox, who was part of the old "NC Pottery Mafia", as they were called back 20 years ago. Brag was a high end collector, and bought the best! The glaze on this pitcher is absolutely exceptional! Pitcher ships USPS Priority Insured Mail. Thanks for looking, and good luck should you choose to bid on it. Ed
