What a super piece; with beautiful design, bold deep color, a wonderfully sharp opalescent pattern and in excellent condition ! This large, eye-catching Fenton Vase was made exclusively for QVC for their 1994 Fenton Glass promotions. The vase features Fenton’s interpretation of the beautiful opalescent “Rib Optic” design used 100 years earlier by American glass houses of the 1890’s such as Hobbs Brockunier, Northwood and Beaumont. This exact Cranberry Vase... is documented in the book “Fenton Glass Especially for QVC” by James Measell on page 53.The base glass is Fenton’s world-famous Cranberry color; on this particular piece, the Cranberry color is very deep and very clear, providing a wonderful backdrop for the opalescent design. The opalescence is a strong snowy-white, is well defined and has very sharp edges, which causes it to really “pop out” against the dark cranberry glass. This is a large, impressive piece: it is a full 9 inches tall, is 5.5 inches across the fancy crimped opening, is 4 inches across the “fattest” part of the body, and sits on a base that is 3 inches wide. Condition is absolutely factory-mint, with NO chips, cracks, flakes, stains or repairs !
