This is a small footed bowl, with a checkered design element, by the legendary Minnesota ceramic artist Warren Mackenzie, now deceased. If you are unfamiliar with Mr. Mackenzie's work a quick internet search will fill you in on his illustrious career. Mr. Mackenzie was one of the finest potters that has ever lived in the US. His functional work is what defined the Mingeisota pottery movement. Mr. Mackenzie was an apprentice of Bernard Leach. ...Mr. Mackenzie's work is always beautifully done, a pleasure to look at, and also always functional. The small-sized bowl is expertly done and has a beautiful glaze. The piece has never been used and is in new, unused condition. This has both Mr. Mackenzie's Stillwater stamp and his personal stamp.
