LATE 19TH TO EARLY 20TH CENTURY MEISSEN FIGURINE OF ART NOUVEAU WOMAN WITH GOLDEN BALL ~ LAWN BOWLING This auction offers a gorgeous, large Meissen figurine from the late 19th to early 20th century depicting a scantily clad woman in the art nouveau style, bending as she prepares to throw a golden ball. She wears a gauzy blue dress that covers only one breast. The ball is separate from the hand that holds it with a hole in the hand to hold t...he ball and I mention this for the new owner, who will want be careful handling it. The figurine is 11-3/4" tall and is modeled on a round base. I believe this figure was modeled by Walther Schott (1861-1938) at Meissen. It has some chipped and repainted leaves in the back of the woman and a possible invisible professional restoration to the fingers. Otherwise, it is in excellent condition.
