For your consideration we offer a 19th century fine French porcelain hand painted two panel vase with gilt detailing by Sevres. Impressive in size, the vase stands approximately 12” in height on a 4.5” footed base and has a 3.75” opening. Two hand painted panels are displayed on a dark pink (almost burgundy) ground. The first portrays a young courting couple dancing, the second is an exquisite country landscape with towering trees and a fence alongside a wooded trail. Surrounding... each panel and accenting the body, lip, and base is liberally applied gilt detailing. The Sevres hallmark is seen on the bottom. In very good condition for its age, there are no chips, cracks, crazing, prior repairs, or other compromising imperfections found. Occasional wear and loss is seen to the gilding, although this is very minor, expected, and appropriate for age and history of use.
