A quality made- likely in India- heavy walled brass planter with applied enamelling, in red and primarily black. The enamelling is inlaid so as to sit flush with the remaining brass surface. A beautiful distinctive technique capable of some very fine decorative surface detailing. No makers marks underside.There can be no denying the genuine antiquity of this beautiful engraved jardinière, planter or bowl. The darkened aged brass patina and yes some small areas of lost enamelling- onl...y add to its vintage allure.The pot presents in good overall condition with no dents.Height 15cm, diameter 22.5cm, weight 1.5 kilos.
